PLANNER/SCHEDULER – VOESTALPINE HBI PLANT PROJECT

Westcon Industries – Corpus Christi, TX                                                                                               (Mar. 2015 – Present)

The Voestalpine Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) plant is a $740M project in Corpus Christi, TX scheduled for operations start up 1st Quarter of 2016. The plant’s annual capacity will be 2M metric tons of high-grade feedstock for the production of high-quality steel grades. Westcon’s Scope consists of the installation and pressure testing of 63,000 linear feet of piping, setting of equipment and pumps, erection of structural steel, tank fabrication and installation of iron-ore conveying system.

·                     Currently mobilized in the field, update CPM Primavera P6 schedule weekly for Engineering, Procurement, Mechanical Piping, Civil, Structural, I&E, Scaffolding, Support Costs; also verify Percent Completes weekly by walking down lines with Quantity Surveyors with P&ID’s / ISO’s. 

·                     Coordinate with all project team members including Estimating, Procurement, Engineering and Field Personnel to obtain timely and accurate data as needed for integration into the P6 schedule; also integrate information from the Master Schedule from the Client into Contractors schedule; also verify/update logic ties, produce variance reports and what-if scenarios

·                     Interface with Materials Manager onsite to verify availability of equipment and material & ensuring project implementation in line with client expectations and recognizing and reporting schedule deviations as they may occur.

·                     Using Earned Value Management techniques, publish Weekly Performance Reports by collecting Direct and Indirect spent Manhours calculated against Planned Estimated Manhours to produce CPI / SPI’s for Management action; also produce Manpower Histograms, S-curves, Critical Path Reports, and benchmarking information to continuously improve future estimates.

PLANNER/SCHEDULER – EXXONMOBIL JULIA

McDermott – Houston, TX                                                                                                                (Jan.  2014 – Mar. 2015)

The Julia field is located approximately 265 miles southwest of New Orleans in the Gulf of Mexico Walker Ridge area in water depths of approximately 7,000 feet. The Julia Phase I project is a $4B EPC subsea tie-back to a semisubmersible floating production unit and the scope includes six subsea wells, one six-slot manifold, two umbilicals, six jumpers, two flowlines with two steel catenary risers, two subsea pump modules and topsides support equipment. Production will flow through two 10-inch production flowlines with subsea single-phase boost pumps. Exxon Mobil Corporation, the operator, and Statoil each hold a 50 percent interest in the Julia field development.

·                     Gathered, updated and maintained progress and for Engineering, Procurement, Construction/Fabrication and Installation activities on various projects consisting of Oil & Gas Semi-Submersibles. The scope included installation of fiber optic cables, subsea distribution units, stab & hinge over mudmats, manifolds, flow line jumpers, well jumpers, infield and extension umbilical’s, dynamic and static umbilical pull-ins, and SFLs/EFLs.

·                     Performed risk analysis. Provided project controls support to proposals group and FEED studies.

·                     Regularly provided comprehensive status reports spanning the various disciplines responsible for actions required by the project and to the project contract, while monitoring progress and highlighting issues through S curves, critical path reports, and benchmarking tools to Senior Management.

 

PLANNER/SCHEDULER – BP Juniper

The Juniper project, BPTT’s first subsea field development worth $1.3B, will have a production capacity of 590 MMscfd and is expected to start production in 2017. The rig, which is capable of drilling to 25,000 ft. in as much as 6,000 ft. of water, is under contract for an initial 2-year term. It will drill 5 subsea wells, which will be tied back to the Juniper platform. This is the third rig in operation on BPTT’s offshore facilities, joining the SKD Jaya and the Rowan EXL II. BPTT let a contract to WorleyParsons for the design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, load out, and mechanical completion of 4,300-short-ton topsides and a 6,100-short-ton jacket for the Juniper project in 2011 third quarter.

·                     Principal Planner for Engineering, Procurement, Construction/Fabrication and Installation activities on various projects consisting of Oil & Gas Pipelines, Topsides, FPSO, Well pads, CPFs.

·                     Collected data on project progress, logic and manpower from Project Leads, contractors or other project/plant personnel. Reviewed/validated expected milestone dates on new projects assisting in the setting of milestone targets as required.

The Gulfstar 1 Floating Production System (GS1 FPS) project is a $1B+ oil and gas project for the Tubular Bells oilfield located in the Gulf of Mexico.  It mates a classic spar hull with a traditional three-level topsides with a core designed production rate of 60,000 bopd and up to 200 mmcfd.  Field operators are Hess/Chevron.

·                     Project Principal Planner on multiple projects in the midstream/subsea organization including Hess, BP, and Chevron; worked on $1B+ dollar project Gulf Star – GS1 Tubular Bells.

·                     Gathered, updated and maintained progress and for Engineering, Procurement, Construction/Fabrication and Installation activities on various projects consisting of Oil & Gas Pipelines, Topsides, and Hull & Mooring infrastructure.

·                     Generated CPM resource-loaded schedules as well as Bi-Weekly Variance Reports, Three-Week Look-Aheads, Manpower Histograms, etc.

The Tahiti floating production truss spar is located on Green Canyon Block 641, approximately 190 miles southwest of New Orleans. It has the capacity to produce 125,000 bopd and 70 MMcf/d of gas and treat 120,000 bwpd of produced water. The platform has oil and gas processing equipment but does not have a drilling rig or surface wellheads.

·                     Project Senior Principal Planner on multiple projects within the project controls subsea organization including BHP Shenzi, Marathon Droshsky, BP Angola, PDVSA, and FEED studies for Kizomba Satellites man-hours.

·                     Master planner for Chevron Tahiti Phase I and Phase II, with a total contract value of $207M, with responsibilities including compiling, analyzing, and administering project planners in multiple global manufacturing plants.

·                     Implemented baseline schedule and planning operations for complex large-scale projects. Initiated project set up and development of the schedule development and control plan. Developed schedule structure, and reporting structure according company policy and contract requirement.

·                     Performed analyses of schedule integrity, scheduling structure, practices, procedures, reporting, and other key performance areas within the planning team for projects with known performance issues. Interrogated and identified weaknesses within the overall plan. Advised a plan for recourse and recovery. Initiated the execution of such plans.

·                     Took on leadership role for problem solving within the Global Project Services structure. Became the Cameron ‘Global Firefighter’ as a job function and subject matter expert for issues regarding project management, planning, and other project services functions. Developed several standards and key business practices as a result of resolutions to real project issues.

·                     Member of the Cameron ‘ALPHA’ scheduling team which consisted of the best of the best within project services and project management. The purpose of this team was to develop EPC standards for Business Units comprised of business standards, procedures, and work practices. As a result of working with this team, we were able to develop a full glossary of BU’s, procedures, and work practices.

·                     Due to the lack of a procedure for progress measurement / earned value, developed a procedure which included a standard for compiling a relative weight structure within the Scope of Supply, a phased weighting scheme, and ultimately a process for applying weight to all relevant activities within all schedules. This system also included a method for applying physical progress and rules of credit. Likewise, there is also a method for downloading data from Primavera within pre-formed templates to show this data by deliverable, package, phase, or overall project. This procedure has been standardized and adapted as a work practice by Cameron with little exception.

 

PLANNER/SCHEDULER – CHEVRON TAHITI / BLIND FAITH

The Chevron Tahiti installation is a $20M scope that consist of umbilical’s including the associated steel and electrical flying leads and the rigid pipeline and well jumpers.

 

Chevron Blind Faith is located in approximately 7,000ft of water at Mississippi Canyon blocks 695 and 696 in the Gulf of Mexico. It is operated by Chevron with a 62.5% working interest on behalf of Kerr-McGee with a 37.5% working interest. Total capital costs for the project have been put at around $900m. Flowlines including the associated Pipeline End Terminations (PLETs) and pre-laid Steel Catenary Risers (SCRs) were laid by Subsea 7's vessel Seven Oceans.

·                        Senior Project Planner on multiple projects within the Project Controls organization including Chevron Blind Faith, Chevron Tahiti Gas Gathering, BP Atlantis, and BP Thunderhorse projects in the Gulf of Mexico.

·                        Performed progress reporting through S-curves and installation analysis for comparison to bid schedule.

·                        Developed schedules covering all aspects of project including installation of subsea distribution units, manifolds & mudmats, flow line jumpers, well jumpers, infield & extension umbilical’s, dynamic & static umbilical pull-ins, and SFLs/EFLs.
